TOM ALCOMENDAS
Business Representative
Tom Alcomendas began his journey with the Teamsters back in 1990, during the busy peak UPS season. For two whole decades, he looked out for his fellow workers as a shop steward. he stepped up even more, becoming a trustee on the Local 58 Executive Board. In 2020 he became a business rep at local 58 .
Tom’s extensive experience, coupled with his steadfast dedication, positions him as a valuable asset to the union and a formidable advocate for workers’ rights. His commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and representation continues to inspire and empower those around him.
JUSTIN BAPTISTA
Business Representative
Justin Baptista joined the Teamsters Union in 2009 and is a third generation Union member. He started his Teamster career working in the Beverage industry as an Order Selector and moved to Shipping and receiving and back up supervisor. In 2011 he was nominated by members as Shop Steward and carried that title until his departure to join Teamsters 58 as a Union business agent. Justin has been on the Local 58 Executive Board since 2018 as a Trustee and is currently holding the position of Recording Secretary.
With over 12 years of being a Teamster, Justin is passionate about protecting, and representing Teamster members and making sure they are treated fairly and advocating for all members of this great Teamster Organization.
JOHN HONTS
Business Representative – Astoria/Tillamook
John has been a Teamster member since 2004 working for the Tillamook County Creamery. He has worked his way through the ranks and is now a lead in the packaging department. He was nominated as a Shop Steward in 2010 and represents about 90 members within his department. John joined the Local 58 Executive Board in 2015 and currently holds the Vice President position.
John is very passionate about enforcing the contracts and protecting the rights of Local 58 members.
